The Kiwanis Club of the Greater Randolph Area is a member of Kiwanis International, a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
Among the list of community service projects in the many communities surrounding Randolph AFB the club performs are:
- Through the Reading is Fundamental program we provide 3000 books each year to K and Pre-K age children in six schools in two school districts.
- Mentors in elementary schools
- Sponsor Key-Clubs at Clemens High School and Judson Early Collage Academy, and a Builders Club at Dobie Junior High School. Scholarships are awarded to Key Club members at the end of the school year.
- Each month the club takes deserving children to a local department store and provides the funds for new clothing.
- Along with other Kiwanis clubs in the San Antonio area the club supports and provides volunteer time to build ramps with the Texas Ramp Project. These ramps are for the handicapped that must use wheelchairs or other support devices to be mobile and would otherwise be homebound.
- Each Christmas the club sponsors 25 children for a shopping trip to buy toys and other items of their choosing and provide 10 families with Christmas Food Baskets and presents for the children of those families.
If you are interested in performing community service and helping children around the world and in the Greater Randolph Area, we encourage you to learn more about the Kiwanis Club of Greater Randolph here on our web site and welcome you to join us for a meeting. Check our Information page or Activities Calendar for details about our meeting day, time and place.
